How Royal Preps uses and protects the information you give us when you use the platform.
Royal Preps provides question banks, flashcards, past papers and revision analytics for postgraduate medical examinations. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have over it.
It covers the Royal Preps website, the study platform and the emails we send you. It does not cover external sites we link to, which run their own policies. We never sell your email address or any other personal detail.
We use your data to run your account and subscription, generate your analytics and flashcard scheduling, answer support requests, and send service messages about billing, renewals and exam reminders.
We also use it, in aggregate, to improve question quality. IP and login data help us keep the platform secure and detect account sharing or fraud. Where a legal basis is required, we rely on performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interest in securing and improving the service, your consent for optional emails and analytics cookies, and legal obligation for accounting records.
Card payments are handled entirely by our payment provider. Royal Preps never receives or stores your card number or bank credentials. We keep only the transaction reference, amount, date and plan, which we need for invoicing and refunds.
Data is held on secure servers with encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access limited to staff who need it, and regular backups. If a breach ever affects your personal data, we will notify you and the relevant regulator without undue delay.
We keep your data while your account is active. After closure we delete or anonymise it within 90 days, apart from transaction records kept for tax purposes and anonymised statistics that cannot identify you.
You can access, correct, export or delete your data at any time. Most of this is available directly in your account settings; for anything else, write to us and we will respond within 30 days.
You may also object to processing based on our legitimate interests, withdraw consent for optional emails, and complain to your local data protection authority.
